NY2K Jewellers respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses.
  • Order details: what you bought, what you paid, and delivery and collection records.
  • Commission details: ring sizes, design preferences, photographs and notes you give us for custom, remodelling, repair or valuation work.
  • Messages: emails, enquiry forms and notes of phone or studio conversations.
  • Website data: device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed and how you reached the site, collected through cookies and similar technology.

We do not see or store your full card details. Payments are processed by our payment providers.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you place an order, send an enquiry, book an appointment, subscribe to our emails or visit the studio. Website data is collected automatically as you browse.

Why we collect it

  • To process and deliver your order and take payment.
  • To design, make, repair or value jewellery for you.
  • To answer your enquiries and provide after-sale care.
  • To keep records the law requires, including tax records and records for insurance purposes.
  • To detect and prevent fraud.
  • To improve the website and understand how it is used.
  • To send you news and offers, where you have asked to receive them.

Marketing

We send marketing emails only if you have subscribed or the law otherwise allows it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with those who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes orders.
  • Payment providers, to take payment and screen for fraud.
  • Carriers and insurers, to deliver your order.
  • Contracted specialists working on your piece, such as an independent valuer.
  • Email, analytics and advertising services we use to run and measure the website.
  • Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.

Overseas disclosure

Some of these providers, including Shopify, store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and Singapore. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to keep your bag, remember your preferences and measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site, including the bag and checkout, may then not work properly.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it. We keep records of pieces we have made and sold for longer, so we can help with future repairs, resizing, valuations and insurance claims.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
